Learn to Drive: A Driver Education Resource by educators, who were in search of a resource that would be easy to understand, interactive and multi-sensory. The package consists of: a workbook, a testing resource, and a CDRom.
The workbook follows the same unit order of the CD, provides the rules and regulations of driving, written in plain English. The test booklet that accompanies the workbook uses a variety of questioning strategies that allow the learners to self assess their progress and learning. Students are also encouraged to look at the SGI website http://letmedrive.nwcsd.ca/ for additional testing practice and information.
Easy accessibility was a key factor in designing the Driver Education Training CD. All units can be easily accessed by clicking on the respective icons and each unit is based on a driving related theme. Learners are also encouraged to work on the accompanying unit questions from the workbook after working on a unit on the CD. Ideally, learners should move on to the next unit only after scoring 90% and above on each test.
While this resource has been developed in Saskatchewan, it can be suitably used throughout Canada. Only units 17, 18, 19 & 20 specifically deal with rules and regulations relevant to Saskatchewan. Other provinces may supplement this resource with regulation pertinent to their provinces.
