Businesses Relocate to Great Plains College Rosetown Campus

Two businesses have recently relocated to spaces in the Rosetown Campus of Great Plains College:  the West Central Enterprise Region and Central Connections Management Inc. (former E2000).

“Our campus expects that there will be many new opportunities forged as a result of this relocation,” said Monica Kreiter, Campus Manager. “These two businesses provide a variety of community and business supports which fit well with the employer services offered by the college.”

Shirley Helgason from Central Connections provides Executive Director services for the Rosetown Chamber of Commerce, as well as coordination services to the newly developed Family Centre. This is  in addition to her role as Community Developer for Rosetown and district. Central Connections and Great Plains College already have some shared interests as both are members of the West Central Literacy Committee. The Mayor’s Breakfast planned for this coming October continues to be a joint initiative between Central Connections and the college.

Tracy Johnston, formerly of E2000, now works for the West Central Enterprise Region. Her role focuses on a broader approach to business development. She will be providing supports region wide to larger business initiatives. Tracy brings strong marketing skills to the annual Grain Grower’s Symposium committee. This event is an example of Tracy’s regional focus. The Rosetown Campus is a Grain Grower’s Symposium partner as well.

Great Plains College is pleased to have both services located at the college. This provides one-stop shopping for regional and local community members and businesses around business and community development and labour market development services. While the Grain Grower’s Symposium and the West Central Literacy Committee are two committees where common interests can be found, it is expected that the co-location will help more such initiatives develop.
