The Board of Governors of Great Plains Colleges extended congratulations to its current President Mark Frison on being named the next President and CEO of Assiniboine Community College in Brandon, Manitoba. The announcement was made earlier today in Brandon.
“We are appreciative of all he has done for learners, employers, and communities over the past five years,” said Brian Shygera, Chair of the Board of Governors of Great Plains College. “We appreciate that this is an important step for him professionally.”
Frison is expected to continue as the President of Great Plains College through until early fall.
“I have been honored to be involved with the stewardship of Great Plains College during such an important time in its history,” said Frison. “I am incredibly proud of what our team has accomplished and look forward to what the future will bring for the institution.”
The Board of Governors will be starting a search process for a new President and expects recruitment efforts to begin in the autumn. Teresa Cole, the college’s Director of Planning and Communication, will serve as Acting President following Frison’s departure.
