Parking

Paid parking permits are available at the campus or in the 1st Avenue N.E. parking lot. If you would like to purchase a parking stall please contact Maureen Hamilton at maureenh@greatplainscollege.ca or call (306)778-5476. More information is available in the following documents:

It is the responsibility of each vehicle owner to ensure their parking permit is on the front windshield and  visible at all times; if a valid permit is not visible, the vehicle may be ticketed.

Food Services

A lounge and cafeteria is located on the main floor at this campus. Breakfast, beverages, baked goods and lunch items are catered by "Soup and Such" Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm from September to June.

After cafeteria hours, snack foods, coffee and soft drinks are available from vending machines in the lounge. An additional drink machine is located at the top of the main south staircase on the second floor.

Student Support Centre

Student computers are available in the library and students may also access the computer lab when a class is not booked in it. The campus has wireless network access throughout.

ESL and GED Prep classes are regularly scheduled. Other services can be arranged on an appointment basis.

Student Association

Composition

Two student representatives will be chosen from every full time program. The Student Association elects the executive consisting of: President, Vice President, and Secretary/Treasurer. A staff advisor also participates. Other students are welcome to attend meetings, assist with the planning of events, and help in other ways, but will not have voting privileges.

Purpose

The Student Association plans social, recreational and fund raising activities that contribute to a positive post-secondary environment. The Association provides a student voice in college operations; helps the student body be involved and aware; maximizes cross-program interaction; and acts as a college advocate.

Library
Swift Current Library.

A study lounge with resource materials, study carrels, and computer access is located on the second floor. In addition, students may access space and resources through a partnership with the Swift Current Library, at 411 Herbert Street East, (3 blocks from the college campus).

Gymnasium

The campus gymnasium is available to students for recreational activities when not otherwise booked. Equipment for basketball, volleyball and floor hockey is available. Students may join noon hour aerobics held M/W/F for a reduced fee. Showers and change rooms are available.

Local Daycare

Great Plains College has a partnership with the Swift Current Comprehensive High School's Daycare. The S.C.C.H.S Daycare is open from the end of August to the end of June, Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm. They care for children ages 0 - 30 months old.
